Mouse Cytochrome P450s

Note May 15, 2007. This page is under revision. The old links to Locus Link have been replaced by new links to Entrez Gene. Many old Unigene entries were retired. These have all been updated. I have added links to P450 gene cluster maps in column 1. The gene names in column 1 are now linked to the protein sequences.

Be aware that some Refseq sequences are not complete. You may want to use my linked protein sequences from column 1.

The UCSC links and nucleotide numbering are from version mm8 Feb. 2006 assembly.

I have made links to the UCSC Genome Browser for each entry. These links usually cover the gene or pseudogene and some surrounding context.

I will continue work on updating this page. The links in cols 2,3 and 5 are now fixed.

I have incorporated more than 1000 links in this table to make access to P450 data on mouse P450s easier. Currently there are 103 full length P450s and 82 pseudogenes. The 3a gene cluster has been revised and a new Cyp3a41b gene was found. I have tried to make this table as up to date as possible. Unigene links have been checked and updated.

Some of the automatically generated annotations by Gnomon are incorrectly translated as in Cyp4f37/4f38p XM_139866 and Cyp26b1 XP_149752. Some of these have not been labeled, so beware. See my paper on Frankenstein genes that discusses this problem. It is a good idea to consult the links under col 1 or the FASTA file of mouse sequences.

Pseudogenes are named using suffixes to specify the four types of pseudogenes defined as:

P is a full length or near full length pseudogene, it may be near or far from other P450s.

-ps is equivalent to P, but it is required nomenclature for mouse full length pseudogenes.

-de stands for detritus exons (found near other full length genes).

-de1b2b stands for a second exon 1 and exon 2 found near the parent gene. -de1c2c stands for a third exon 1 and exon 2 found near the parent gene.

-se stands for solo exons, one or a few exons found distant from a P450 gene.

The numbers in the brackets [1:2:3] refer to exons found in the pseudogene.

-ie stands for internal exons, duplicate exons found inside some P450 genes.
