Dr. Harry Jarrett's Links

Here are some of my favorite links for Med Biochem:

For help with pH problems:
pH tutorial (Jefferson University)

For help with enzyme kinetics:
enzyme kinetics tutorial (Jefferson University)

You can find some case based biochemistry tutorials (where you use
what you have learned to diagnose/treat medical problems) at
this site in Manitoba, Canada.

Finally, if you would like to explore protein structure, you might
want to look at:

  • Downloading RASMOL for the Mac or PC
  • Browsing the Brookhaven Protein Database (where all the crystal structure data are kept)
  • Downloading Mage_4_2 for the Mac or PC. Some students experienced problems downloading Mage for the Mac through a Web browser. Mac users should go directly to the gopher site to download the program itself.
  • Obtaining kinemage files from the ElectronicProtein Science Home Page
